Mayor Arif inaugurates measles-rubella vaccination campaign at Surya Hasi Clinic

Sylhet Bureau: Sylhet City Corporation Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury has inaugurated the measles-rubella vaccination campaign at Surya Hasi Clinic in Sylhet. He inaugurated the vaccination campaign at Surya Hasi Clinic in Sheikhghat, Ward 12 of the city on Saturday (December 12) at 10 am.

The national measles-rubella vaccination campaign will continue for 6 weeks. There, children aged 9 months to 10 years will be vaccinated against measles and rubella.

During the inauguration, Sisik Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury said, “Everyone should bring their children to the immunization center in compliance with the hygiene rules during this time.” He urged all parents to ensure that no child is left out of the immunization program.

Sisik Chief Health Officer was present at the time. Md. Jahidul Islam said that if any child has been vaccinated before, he will have to be vaccinated again in this campaign. He said care should be taken to ensure that no child is excluded from vaccination. If a child is sick, he or she can recover and get vaccinated.

Shafiqul Islam, Sisik Health Inspector Bhopal Ranjan Chanda and doctors, nurses and staff of Sheikhghat Surya Hasi Clinic.

Meanwhile, Sisik Chief Executive Officer and Joint Secretary to the Government MLA Roy Chowdhury inaugurated the National Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign 2020 at Binodini Nagar Health Center on the banks of Dhopadighi in the city at 10:30 am.

It may be mentioned that under the supervision of Sisik, 55 centers will be vaccinated in 27 wards of the city from 12 December to 24 January. Vaccination will be closed only on public holidays. This time the target of Sisik is to vaccinate 1 lakh 4 thousand children against measles and rubella.
