It is learned on the spot that he was found dead in Charan Bazar area of Barabala union of Mithapukur upazila of Rangpur. Pulin Chandra Barman, son of Alang Chandra Barman, died in the War of Independence.His name is in the red liberation message as a martyred freedom fighter. His name is also in the gazette published by the Ministry of Freedom Fighters Affairs in 2005. Rangpur district administration in 2005 and recently in 2021 upazila administration Even though his name was in the final list of freedom fighters, he still did not get the certificate of martyred freedom fighter, did not get the status of freedom fighter, did not even get any help. The family of this martyred freedom fighter is also deprived of government facilities.
Kamini Chandra Barman, the only brother of the martyred freedom fighter, and the locals said that he was taken away from his house by the Pakistani aggressors and brutally tortured for joining the freedom fighters.Members of the invading forces dipped his body in hot water and set it on fire. This is a martyr who lost his life for the country There is no one to see the misery of the freedom fighter family. The family of this sun child of the country is somehow living on the scourge of poverty. His only brother Kamini Chandra Varman somehow lived on the land for only four centuries. There is no way out of that house. Being helpless, they somehow manage their daily life with other people’s land. The family of the martyred freedom fighter did not even get a house for the homeless as a gift from the Hon’ble Prime Minister. Kamini Chandra Barman, a 65-year-old man, lost his brother and accepted the deprivation.
In this regard, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mamun Bhuiyan said, the families of the martyred freedom fighters will get allowance from the Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust. In the year of Mujib, houses are being given to those who do not have land. Since he has four hundred acres of land, those who do not have land will be given houses under the project.
