Mansurul Islam Danu has been elected mayor of Domar municipality for the third time

Nurkader Sarkar Imran, Domar (Nilphamari): Incumbent Mayor Mansurul Islam Danu (Coconut Tree) has been re-elected as Mayor of Domar Municipality of Nilphamari.

Domar municipal elections were held for the first time on Tuesday, November 2, via EVM. Privately, independent candidate Mansurul Islam Danu was declared the winner by District Election Officer and Domar Municipality Election Returning Officer Jahangir Hossain. He lost to his rival candidate by a margin of 993 votes with the (coconut tree) symbol and was elected mayor. Got 4 thousand 667 votes.

His nearest rival, independent candidate Afroza Nazneen (mobile phone) got 3,674 votes with the symbol. Ganesh Kumar got 2,425 votes with the Agar Wala (boat) symbol.

The total number of voters in Domar municipality election held for the fifth time was 13,540.

Elections were held on Tuesday (November 2) from 8 am to 4 pm non-stop in 9 centers of the municipality through EVMs. Voters cast their votes in a festive atmosphere. No untoward incident took place. The administration’s surveillance was eye-catching.
On the other hand, Shahnaz Begum of Ward No. 1, reserved for women, won with 147 votes for the pineapple symbol and her nearest rival Hajera Begum got 1004 votes for the autorickshaw symbol.

Nasima, a reserved woman from Ward 2, won with 962 votes with the ballpoint pen symbol and her nearest rival Munni got 807 votes with the telephone symbol. Umme Kulchum, a reserved woman from Ward 3, won with 1807 votes with the spectacle symbol and her nearest rival Shahina got 1799 votes with the pineapple symbol.
Mizanur Rahman Jewel of Ward No. 1 won the general seat by getting 545 votes for the camel bird symbol and his nearest rival Mahfuz Alam got 521 votes with the Punjabi symbol. In the 2nd ward council post, Shamsul Alam won with 222 votes with the table lamp symbol and his nearest rival Abdul Haque got 188 votes.

Akhtaruzzaman Sumon, the councilor of the 3rd ward, won the camel bird symbol with 615 votes and his nearest rival Rashed Mahmud Ujjal got 362 votes. Selim Reza won the post of councilor of ward 4 with 535 votes with the water bottle symbol and his nearest rival Moshiar Rahman Dalim got 454 votes. Ahidul Islam won the post of councilor of ward 5 by getting 402 votes for the camel bird symbol and his nearest rival Belal Hossain got 386 votes. Mizanur Rahman won the post of councilor of ward 7 with 565 votes with the symbol of camel bird and his nearest rival Raju Amin got 488 votes.

Rubel Islam won the post of councilor of ward 7 with 597 votes with Punjabi symbol and his nearest rival Enayet Hossain got 424 votes. Kawshar Alam won the post of councilor of ward 7 with 527 votes and his nearest rival Shamim Alam got 412 votes. Anwarul Haque won the post of councilor of ward 9 by getting 667 votes for the camel bird symbol.
