Zaker ALi Shuva, Bureau Chief: A day-long livestock exhibition has been held at Kumarkhali in Kushtia. Upazila Parishad Chairman Md Abdul Mannan Khan, Municipality Mayor Md Shamsuzzaman Arun and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rajibul Islam Khan inaugurated the program at Kumarkhali Government College ground premises at 10:30 am on Saturday.
Upazila Livestock Extension Officer Dr. Md Arshad Chowdhury presided over the exhibition fair and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rajibul Islam Khan presided over the function. Upazila Animal Resources Officer Dr. Md. Noor Alam Siddiqui gave a welcome speech.
In this exhibition fair, motivation of 46 farmers was discussed. Afterwards the guests visited various stalls of the fair and inquired, encouraging everyone to raise animals. Organized by Upazila Livestock Department and Veterinary Hospital Kumarkhali, the livestock dairy development project LDDP Department of Livestock in collaboration with the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock organized the exhibition fair. Different species of birds including Cows, Goats, Ducks, Chickens, Sheep, Pigeons are displayed in this fair.
In order to motivate and inspire the unemployed and low-income people, a total of 46 farm stalls of the upazila got stalls in the exhibition fair and 15 people in different categories were given certificates with checks and greeting gifts of Taka 4,000. to Taka 500. Farmers say they will play a major role in meeting the nutritional needs of the food if they cooperate.
