‘It is not possible to prevent corruption by law, it requires awareness and self-determination’

Tarikul Islam, Khulna: A meeting has been held with the participation of stakeholders to establish good governance in Khulna. The meeting was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday (September 7) in the conference room of the Institute of Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS) at Khulna Medical College Hospital.

The meeting was chaired by Additional Secretary (Administration) of the Ministry of Science and Technology Niranjan Debnath. Special guest on the occasion was Khulna University Treasurer Professor Sadhan Ranjan Ghosh, Khulna Medical College Principal Professor Dr. Ahad Ali, vice president of Khulna Medical College Dr. Mehdi Newaz, director of Khulna Medical College Hospital Dr. Rabiul Hasan, Head of the Department of KMCH (Child Health) Professor. Golam Mostafa, Khulna Press Club President SM Zahid Hossain.

Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology Babul Mia welcomed the gathering. The program was conducted by the acting director of Inmas Dr. Jharna Das.

Speakers at the meeting said, as long as the age of civilization, the age of corruption. It cannot be prevented by law alone. This requires awareness. There is a kind of mental illness in the society, there is no need but I am doing irregularities. This requires self-will. We have to fulfill our responsibilities with transparency. We have to work with a sense of responsibility, not in the midst of coercion. Must work as a servant. We have to awaken our sense of responsibility towards the society. Independence gained in exchange of blood, Bangabandhu’s dream must be realized in the evaluation of that blood. The speakers said that efforts are being made to provide proper treatment at Khulna Atomic Medical Center. At the same time Khulna Medical Hospital is providing health services with insufficient manpower. Physicians, officers and employees are working to serve the people. Services are also being provided between Atimari Corona and Dengue at present.

The speakers further said that the goal of the present government is to provide services to the people at their doorsteps. The Prime Minister is running the country in spite of various adversities. There is no alternative to digitalization in establishing good governance. The Prime Minister has taken that initiative first of all. The country is moving forward today with the skill of the Prime Minister. Appropriate responsibilities must be fulfilled. You have to do the right thing for the world and the Hereafter. The mindset needs to change. You have to be a little patient. Everyone’s participation is essential in building a golden Bengal.
