Inauguration of Mango Festival at Chapainawabganj

Abdullah Al Mamun, Chapainawabganj: Mango Festival has been officially inaugurated in Chapainawabganj. Chapainawabganj-01 MP Dr. Samil Uddin Ahmed Shimul and Deputy Commissioner Manjurul Hafeez officially inaugurated the mango grove of Rani Samridhi and Vrindavan varieties at the mango orchard of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Live Mango Museum in Shibganj Upazila at 5pm on Friday.

At the inaugural function, the guests said that Chapainawabganj is the capital of mangoes. The inauguration of Ampara in Chapainawabganj means that people will understand that mango has come to the market all over the country.

In the current situation, the concerned people are collecting and marketing mangoes in accordance with the hygiene rules to deliver safe mangoes to the consumers of Chapainawabganj. There will be no problem in marketing and transportation of mangoes. The district administration will always monitor the market if there is any problem in the supply of mangoes. You have to keep the reputation of this district mango.

Also present on the occasion were Deputy Commissioner’s wife Selina Hafeez, Deputy Director Local Government AKM Tajkir Uz Zaman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Debendranath Urao, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) Zakiul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner’s (Overall) wife Nahida Akter, Additional District Magistrate Liaquat Ali Sheikh, Assistant Commissioner Chandan Kar, Executive Magistrate Raushna Jahan, Shibganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shakib Al Rabbi, Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Anisur Rahman, Mango Trader, Leaseholder and Director of Chapainawabganj Chamber Mainul Islam, Prominent Trader Shamim Khan, General Secretary of Kansat Mango Aratdar Cooperative Society Limited Omar Farooq Tipu.

Incidentally, a target has been set to produce 2.5 lakh metric tonnes of mango in Chapainawabganj this year. Last year, mangoes worth around Tk 10 to 12 crore were sold and bought in Kansat market alone.
