In Kishoreganj, the needle is threaded Unemployed women of Muffsball are weaving dreams

Latiful Azam, Kishorganj Nilphamari: If there is indomitable will power is no obstacle. After overcoming such obstacles, the orange women of the impoverished family of Nilphamari Kishoreganj are dreaming of becoming successful entrepreneurs with a strong mentality of dedicating themselves to the welfare of the country and the nation despite tidying up their husbands’ families, taking care of their children and serving their husbands. It is learned that educated, semi-educated unemployed women from non-farm poor families have found a way of self-employment through skill development training on sewing machines organized by Kishoreganj AP World Vision Bangladesh.

The voluntary organization is working to improve the lot of women from poor families with the aim of forming a village-based women’s development society on the shores of Vervari Dhaper Danga in Putimari UP. The leaves are still embroidered in colorful threads on the texture of red, sometimes white kantha in the folds of various colored yarns. Some of them are making various fashionable clothes for small children and teenagers in layers with sewing machines. At that time, the president of Mahila Unnayan Samiti Razifa said that she organized 20 days sewing machine training from World Vision on the initiative of Village Development Committee.

At the end of the training, the company provided 10 women with various materials, including sewing machines, cloth for handicraft weaving free of cost. Something is possible. Shahana, another member of the women’s association, Momina said, “We are making nakshi katha with our knowledge. Besides, we have got training in sewing machine and made all kinds of clothes, big and small. We have found a way to earn extra income.” The monthly income from selling is 3-4 thousand taka. Piking Chambugong, AP’s program manager, said that the advancement of women from impoverished families was accelerated: with the technical support of World Vision, the women of the Women’s Development Association have found a way to earn extra income.
