Khagrachari Correspondent: Upazila residents are being deprived of medical services as there are 48 vacancies including doctors in Dighinala Upazila Health Complex in Khagrachhari district.
According to office sources, there are 48 vacancies in the hospital, including 10 doctors. At present, the hospital authorities are struggling to provide medical services to the patients and the common people of the upazila are being deprived of treatment.
Office officials said important positions such as surgery, anesthesia and gynecology were also vacant. As a result, even small operations are not possible here and maternity or maternity services or even delivery are not possible. In addition, due to the shortage of doctors, there is a problem in providing adequate medical services to the outpatients.
Although there are sanctioned posts of Junior Consultant-Surgery, Medicine, Gynecology, Anesthesia, all the posts are vacant for ages. On top of this, the workers have to do important extra work like coronary examination and vaccination during coronary period.
Junior Consultant (Surgery), Junior Consultant Medicine) Junior Consultant (Gynecologist) Junior Consultant (Anesthesia) and RMO Although there is one approved post in each of these departments, each post is vacant. Besides, although there are 6 posts of medical officer, there are only 2 posts, 5 posts are vacant.
Other vacancies include 6 senior staff nurses, 1 SACMO, 2 pharmacists, 1 medical technologist (lab), 1 store keeper. Two of the two posts of health inspectors are vacant. There are more vacancies, 2 Assistant Health Inspectors, 3 Office Assistant Computer Operators, 15 Health Assistants, 1 Assistant Nurse and 4 MLSS / Office Assistants.
Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer. Tanay Talukder said that the list of vacancies has been sent to the higher authorities to ensure the crisis of doctors and health services and the authorities have also assured to solve the problem.
