In Amtali, two houses were burglarized in broad daylight

Md. Jasim uddin sikder, Barguna(South): A burglary has been organized by breaking the lock of the main gate of the house of retired army member Abdus Chhattar and his tenant Khokon Khan on Bakulnesha Mahila College Road in Amtali municipal town. The thieves took away two lakh forty five thousand takaes in cash and 10 gold ornaments.

A complaint was lodged at Amtali police station on Monday. Police have inspected the incident. The incident happened on Sunday afternoon. It has been reported that Md. Abdus Chhattar, a retired army member, has been living in a flat on the third floor of Bakulnesha Women’s College Road in the municipal town and a tenant named Khokon Khan has been living in the other flat.

The people of those two flats went for a walk on Sunday afternoon. On this occasion, the thief broke the lock of the main gate of the two flats and entered inside. Later, they took away two lakh takaes in cash and six gold ornaments from the army member in the cupboard of the room and 45 thousand takaes in cash and four heavy gold ornaments from the tenant Khokon Khan.

That evening, an army member and a tenant came to the house and saw the lock of the flat broken. They later found the cupboards of the two flats broken and in disarray. Homeowner Abdus Chhattar lodged a written complaint with Amtali Police Station on Monday.

Police have inspected the incident. Abdus Chhattar, a retired army member who owns the house, said he broke the lock of the main gate of the two-storey flat and took away Tk 245,000 in cash and 10 gold ornaments. Amtali Police Station OC Mohammad Shah Alam Hawlader said, “I have received a complaint.” Legal action will be taken subject to investigation.
