Latiful Azam, Kishorganj (Nilphamari): A human chain program has been organized by the Nilphamari Kishoreganj Upazila Kindergarten family to demand financial allocation in the budget for the damaged kindergartens and to uphold the government’s announcement of opening all the institutions on June 16 with the slogan “Bangladesh is a prosperous country with education”. The hour-long human chain was held in front of the local press club on Wednesday morning with the participation of more than five hundred teachers and staff of the kindergarten family and leaders of various social organizations. Principal Abdur Rauf presided over the function. Heroic freedom fighter Abdul Mannan Chowdhury,Heroic freedom fighter Motiar Rahman, Kishoreganj Multipurpose High School (Retd.) Headmaster Fazlar Rahman, Social Worker Hossain Shahid Suhrawardy Granade Babu. The Upazila Citizens Committee, Janakalyan Forum, Bangabandhu Parishad, Shop Owners’ Association and Sahitya Shiksha Parishad also expressed their solidarity with the teachers who lost their jobs in this catastrophic moment. The speakers from this human chain said that they have given a strong call to provide incentives to the teachers and to keep the school open while maintaining social distance.
They added that while kindergarten teachers have played a major role in the development of the primary education system, they are now living inhumane lives. However, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of the Government of Bangladesh has made a groundbreaking contribution by providing package incentives for the livelihood of people at all levels of the country which is commendable all over the world. Therefore, they have sought the intervention of the Prime Minister to consider the matter kindly, including opening schools for livelihood and allocating them in the 2021-22 financial year.
