Md. Sharifuzzaman, Basail (Tangail): Tubewells and Eid gift items have been distributed among the local poor as every year under the Help and Knowledge Program in Basail, Tangail.
Tubewells were distributed among four families and Eid gifts were distributed among more than two hundred families in the remote village of Gilabari in Kauljani UP on Saturday (May 8) at noon. Retired headmaster of Sunna Abbasia High School and social worker AH Aziz Master presided over the function while Basail Upazila Parishad Chairman Kazi Alid Islam was present as the chief guest.
Among others present on the occasion were Upazila Vice-Chairman and Vice-President of Upazila A-League Md. Shahadat Hossain, Basail Pilot Girls School Headmaster Abul Kashem, Help and Knowledge Manager Abu Jafar, Retired Police Officer Shamsul Islam, Md. Shahjahan and others.
Kamrul Hasan, General Secretary, Help and Knowledge, said in his congratulatory speech that the organization has been providing cashless and various assistance to orphans in Bangladesh since 2012 in various fields including education, medical care and health. Following this, Tubewell and 150 kg of Polaway rice, 1 kg of sugar, 1 liter of soybean oil, 1 packet of Semai, 1 packet of milk and some fruits have been distributed among the helpless poor as Eid gifts. The organization will also help in various natural disasters.
