In Thakurgaon, a voluntary organization “Hridaye Rangin Foundation” formed with school and college students of the district has distributed food items among hundreds of helpless poor people who became unemployed in the lockdown. The helpless are happy to get this food given to them.
On Friday (July 30) morning, Thakurgaon Municipal Mayor Anjuman Ara Bonya distributed food items as the chief guest at the Thakurgaon Boys’ High School ground (big ground) organized by the organization.
Each family was given five kg of rice, three kg of pulses, four kg of potatoes and one soap each.
“My husband is a rickshaw puller,” said Ambia Khatun, overjoyed to have food on hand. Husband has no income since the lockdown. I was worried about what to do, how to run the family. I am very happy that the students of this school and college gave me food today. God bless them.
Among others present were Thakurgaon District Awami League Organizing Secretary Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, District Swechchhasebak League General Secretary Kamruzzaman Sunam, Founder and President of Hridoy Rangin Foundation Hanif Bin Rafiq, General Secretary SM Isfar, Vice President Nadia Sarkar Nadi and others.
Also present on the occasion were members of the organization Tabia Tarannum, Tawfiq Elahi Hirak, Sohani Islam Sapti, Sarmila, Md. Ali Arif, Abir Al Ryan, Tanvir Anjum Himel, Wajih Tawsif Chowdhury.
Hanif Bin Rafiq, the founder and president of Hridaye Rangin Foundation, said, “We are working to stand by the helpless of the society.” Even before Eid, we have given food items to 100 people. Even today I gave it to 100 people. These are given with our own money. It would be much better if the rich people of the society as well as us are by the side of the helpless during this current epidemic.
