Sheikh Momin, Goalanda (Rajbari): The local administration and the upazila health department have taken initiative to bring more than three hundred backward residents of the country’s largest Daulatdia sex village under Goan vaccine under special measures to prevent corona virus infection.
The program was inaugurated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Public Health Center adjacent to Daulatdia Sex Village. It is known that the country’s largest Daulatdia sex village is home to more than three hundred sex workers and people of various professions. Extreme risk of corona virus infection in this village in a very crowded environment. But the residents here are very unaware and backward people.
So, even though mass activities started all over the country, it was not available in Daulatdia sex village as expected. The local administration and health department have taken initiative to provide them with special arrangements to bring them under the mass vaccination. Residents of the sex villages are being vaccinated by camping next to the village without going to any vaccination center since Wednesday. In this case, various non-government development organizations working on the basis of Daulatdia sex village are cooperating.
Across Bangladesh, a nationwide mass vaccination campaign has been launched to protect against the corona virus. Following this, Goalanda Upazila Health Complex has taken initiative to vaccinate the residents of Daulatdia East. In this context, Goalanda Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) said. Azizul Haque said the risk of corona virus infection is higher in Daulatdia Purbapara (sex village) than anywhere else. Because on the one hand it is very densely populated, on the other hand people from all over the country come and go here. But the residents here are very much unaware. So they are not interested in going to the vaccination center to get vaccinated according to certain rules. Therefore, an initiative has been taken to give them coronavirus vaccine next to the village. In this way, I hope that it will be possible to bring 100% of the people here under the corona vaccine.
Goalanda Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Asif Mahmud said, .Tickers have been arranged here today for the benefit of the residents of Daulatdia East. Today 300 people will be vaccinated. It has been given to 230 people till 2 pm and this vaccination program will continue in phases.
