Md. Shahriar Kabir Akand, Palashbari (Gaibandha): The Food Department, Palashbari, Gaibandha organized a program on Thursday, October 26, at the Palashbari Government Food Warehouse with the theme “Sheikh Hasina’s Bangladesh, hunger will go missing”. .
The government has set a target of purchasing 644 MT of aman paddy and 1169 MT of rice in the first phase. On this occasion, 744 farmers were selected through lottery in the room of Upazila Parishad Hall on Wednesday afternoon, October 25. The farmers selected through lottery will supply 1.00 MT of paddy to the government food warehouse.
Officially, the price of paddy has been fixed at Tk 28 per kg, boiled rice at Tk 38 per kg and sun-dried rice at Tk 38 per kg. 95 millers of the upazila will supply 1169 MT of cooked rice and 25 MT of Atap rice. Upazila Parishad Chairman AKM Mokshed Chowdhury Power and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Kamruzzaman officially inaugurated the procurement of paddy and rice.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Azizul Islam, Upazila Food Controller Mahbub Hossain, Upazila Government Food Warehousing Officer AH Quader Bakshi, Palashbari Press Club President Rabiul Hossain Pata, Upazila Krishka League General Secretary Aminul Islam Papul, Mill Owner Moniruzzaman Ful Mia and Dilip Chandra Saha were present on the occasion.
