The university is located in the city of Perm, 700 miles east of the Russian capital, Moscow. This was reported in a report on Monday (September 20th) by the news agency AFP and the British media The Independent.
A video posted online shows the alleged gunman firing randomly before entering the university’s building number eight. Another video footage showed panicked students in the building jumping from the second floor.

Earlier, Russian security officials said eight people had been killed and six wounded in the gun attack.
Meanwhile, The Independent reported that the alleged attacker had already been killed. However, the local police department confirmed the arrest of the accused after 12 noon local time.
Local media identified the attacker as 18-year-old Timur Bekmansurov. In a post on social media just before the attack, Bekmansurv explained in detail how he got his gun and shooting license. He even successfully passed a mental test.
Defendant Timur Bekmansurv claims he chose the university to carry out the attack because “the university made a fatal mistake” four years ago.
