Kalapara (Patuakhali) Correspondent: Leaders and activists of Mahipur Thana Juba League of Patuakhali have started planting trees with the slogan “Green wall will be the coast”. On Friday afternoon, Juba League leaders and activists planted more than 500 saplings of different species in four unions including Kuakata. On the occasion of Mujib’s centenary, Mahipur Thana Juba League organized the program under the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as part of a nationwide tree planting program led by Bangladesh Awami Juba League.
About 100 saplings of fruit, forest and medicinal plants were planted at various places including the front of Kuakata Tourist Holiday Homes. Besides, leaders and activists of Mahipur, Latachapali, Dhulasar and Dalbuganj Union Juba League planted more than four hundred saplings of different species. Mahipur Thana Juba League convener Mizanur Rahman Bullet Akon, Kuakata Municipal Juba League convener Isaac Sheikh, Mahipur Sadar Union Juba League convener Ferdous Hawladar, Dhulasar Union Juba League Ahl-e-Lionage.
Juba League President Md. Shahidul Islam and other Juba League leaders and activists were present. Also present were Subash Chandra Nandi, Manager, Tourism Holiday Homes and ASI Mohd. Kamrul Islam was present. Mizanur Rahman Bullet Akon, convener of Mahipur Thana Juba League, said, “We have carried out this program on the instructions of the central committee.” He said the tree planting program will continue.
