Government plans to build tunnel without bridge at Daulatdia-Paturia: Bridges Minister

Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said, “The government is planning to build a tunnel without a bridge at Daulatdia-Paturia to maintain the navigability of the river.”

He further said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Vision 2021, 2041 and 2100, she will do what she needs to do. The Prime Minister is considering all the plans. The vision of Awami League is not the vision of BNP.

He was speaking at a seminar titled “Bangabandhu’s Golden Bangla Sheikh Hasina’s Struggle for Development on the Uninterrupted Dream Highway from Khulna to Chittagong” organized by the Awami League’s sub-committee on science and technology at the Institute of Engineers Bangladesh-IEB in the capital on Friday morning.

Noting that the BNP’s counter vision will never see the light of day, Obaidul Quader said, “The BNP has become isolated from the people for its negative politics.

The minister said not only road construction but also road maintenance should be done and proper maintenance should be done.

Chairman of the Science and Technology Sub-Committee Prof. Dr. Md. Hossain Mansur presided over the seminar. Chief Engineer AKM Monir Hossain Pathan.

The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Dr. AFM Saiful Amin.
