BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, “Middle and lower income people are silently crying because of the unbridled jump in commodity prices compared to income. Dumb cries are going on in every house. Running the family has now become a responsibility. The vote-rigging government is indifferent as the government-controlled ‘market syndicate’ is responsible for the rise in prices of essential commodities. ”
He said this at a press conference held at the BNP’s central office in Naya Paltan on Monday.
Rizvi said, “At present, the life of the people of the country is going through a suffocating situation. Humanity is shedding tears at the feet of state looters. This government has no responsibility, no mercy towards the people as it was not elected. So no action is being taken to control the price of goods. There is no government surveillance in the market. Their eyes are looted. All those who are benefiting as middlemen in the rise in prices are involved in the Awami League or its affiliates. ”
He said: Prices of food, rice, pulses, oil, salt, green chillies, onions, vegetables, fish, meat, poultry, poultry, eggs, sugar, milk and other essential commodities are increasing day by day and it is becoming impossible for poor and middle class people to collect these products. For. Besides, gas, electricity and water bills have also been increased. The price of LPG was also increased last Sunday. The Awami League’s black market, profiteering and hoarding syndicate is behind this.
Referring to the skyrocketing price of Hilsa, the BNP senior joint secretary general said, “The price of Hilsa has not come down this year either. Because the people of the country have been deprived and sent to the neighboring countries. Prices are lower there (in neighboring countries), but in our country it is skyrocketing. ”
He further said, “Bargis used to come to Bangladesh, loot and leave. They are looting in the same way. Building their fortunes abroad and building mountains of the country’s wealth there. The commerce minister, the food minister are businessmen themselves and are involved in this syndicate. ”
Zainul Abdin Farooq, advisor to the party chairperson, Abdus Salam and others were present at the press conference.
