Going forward, Bangladesh lost

Sports Desk /

Bangladesh went ahead with Sumon Raza’s goal in the 9th minute of the first half. But in the end Bangladesh could not. Nepal equalized 1-1 with a penalty kick in the 88th minute of the match. And that is why Nepal has reached the final of the SAF Championship.

Bangladesh made four changes to the XI on Wednesday at the Rashmi Dhandu Stadium in Mal, the capital of the Maldives. After Sumon Reza scored a goal at the beginning of the game, Bangladesh raised hopes of the final. But goalkeeper Anisur Rahman Zico’s red card changed everything in an instant. After 16 years, Bangladesh returned with the disappointment of breaking the dream, raising hopes of playing in the final of the SAF Championship.

Bangladesh had to win to play the final on October 16. But Oscar Bruce’s team dropped out of the round robin league with 5 points in four matches in this draw. Nepal reached the final of SAF for the first time with 7 points.

It was the ninth minute of the match, which started at 5 pm at the Mal National Stadium in Maldives. Bangladesh got a free-kick for fouling Rakib.

Sumon Reza led the team with a great header when the free-kick taken by Jamal Bhuiyan deflected and fell in front of the six yard.

Anjan Bista equalized for Nepal in the 88th minute from the penalty spot.
