Asaduzzaman Khairul Savar (Dhaka): A gas explosion took place at Humayun Kabir’s tinshed semi-finished house in Ashulia’s Pallividyut Cemetery Road area.
The huge explosion blew away the tin roof of the house and cracked the side wall. Six people, including a child, were burnt in the incident.
Abdul Alim, commander of Zone 4 of the Fire Service, confirmed the explosion at noon on Wednesday (June 2nd) after an inspection, saying it was a biogas explosion in the bathroom. The dangerous explosion took place as there was a kitchen with a bathroom in that house.
According to local sources, four members of two rented houses were burnt when the blast took place at 5 am, while two others were injured while trying to put out the fire. The injured were rescued and sent to the local hospital and Dhaka Medical Burn Unit.
Dagdhara is- Md. Awal (35), his daughter Afia (10), wife Renu Begum (25) and Afroza Begum (26) are from another family. Hakim Mia, 40, and Aduri Begum, 28, were also injured in the blaze. Five of them are garment workers.
