The National Directorate of Consumer Rights has fined 8 thousand 500 taka to four business establishments in Kamalganj, Moulvibazar.

On Tuesday (02 August) at 12 noon in the upazila’s Madhavpur Bazar area, the assistant director of Moulvibazar district office of the Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection imposed this fine with the cooperation of RAB-9 force. During this time, for selling products at higher prices than the fixed price, selling expired products, not having a trade license and not keeping a price list, a fine of 3 thousand taka was imposed on M/s Ashraful Traders of Madhavpur Bazaar, 1 thousand taka on Sharif Varieties Store, and 5 hundred taka on Muslim Varieties Store. . Apart from this, based on the written complaint of the consumer, Swaplonok, located in Madhavpur Lake, was found to be selling ice cream at a higher price than the prescribed price and was fined Tk 4,000.

Al-Amin, assistant director of the Moulvibazar district office of the Directorate of Consumer Protection, said that the complainant will receive twenty-five percent of the fine and our monitoring activities will continue.
