Farmers are threshing corn by machine

Latiful Azam, Kishoreganj (Nilphamari): Corona’s bitter blue poison has endangered people’s lives. But even in this bitter blue poison, the agricultural economy has become a blessing for the farmers.Farmers in maize and boro paddy are having colorful dreams. The bumper crop, the fair market price and the intense heat of the seniors have brought a smile to the faces of the sweating farmers. This year, especially in Nilphamari Kishoreganj, a record amount of land has been cultivated with maize. And the corn in the field is being sold in the field at the rate of 500 taka per mana.

And field corn is contributing the most to the field sales by threshing corn through machines. In a short time, farmers are able to thresh maize with a threshing machine without low cost labor. Although the yield of maize was satisfactory, the farmers of that time faced difficulties in threshing maize as there was no threshing machine. This would have cost the farmer extra labor and money. The quality of maize would be ruined due to gradual breakage. The middlemen would take advantage of this opportunity. As a result, the farmers used to incur losses.

Now the farmers are benefiting from the reaping of maize threshing machines and are more inclined towards cultivation. Bangladesh Wheat and Maize Research Institute is making special contribution to the socio-economic development of the farmers by making maize threshing machines. This machine is a blessing for the maize growers now. At present bumper yield of maize, fair market price and affordable price are being benefited by threshing maize by machine.

Workers are doubling their profits by planting affordable maize. And Bikribatta also has no suffering. In this regard, Upazila Agriculture Officer Habibur Rahman said, the target has been set to cultivate maize in 3,220 hectares of land this year.Agricultural incentives, bumper yields, fair market prices, threshing corn by machinery are changing the fortunes of farmers during this coronation.
