Mahmudul Hasan, Pirganj (Rangpur): “We cultivate more fish, eliminate unemployment”
With this slogan in mind, an exchange of views was held with journalists on the occasion of National Fisheries Week in Pirganj, Rangpur.
The meeting was held at noon on Saturday, August 26 at the office of the Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer.
In the exchange of views, senior upazila fisheries officer Aminul Islam mentioned that the target of fish in the upazila this year is 9 thousand metric tons. And we are regularly traveling in the markets and are being fined with the seizure of current nets.
Fish sanctuaries have been set up in the upazila to increase the breeding of native fish.
The upazila has a total of 48 government beels and 16 khas ponds. Monosex tilapia fry have been distributed at free cluster villages and shelters by the Upazila Fisheries Department.
President of Pirganj Press Club, journalist Moksed Ali Sarkar, Sarwar Jahan, Golam Kabir Bilu, Sultan Ahmed Sona, Rana Zaman, Rezaul Karim, Mahmudul Hasan, Minhazul Islam Milon and many others were present.
