Abdullah Al Mamun, Chapainawabganj: Chapainawabganj District Awami League vice-president and district BMA general secretary Dr. Golam Rabbani and his wife Selina Biswas, president of the district welfare club, donated two oxygen cylinders of 6.8 M3 size for the treatment of corona patients. The 250-bed district modern Sadar Hospital was handed over to Dr. Mominul Haque on Wednesday morning.
Co-President of the district A-League, freedom fighter Alhaj Ruhul Amin, Secretary for industry and commerce of the district A-League Samsuddin Haji Bablu, Member of the municipal A-League Professor Mehedul Islam, Office secretary Arifur Reza Emon, Assistant professor Golam Farooq Mithun, Nursing Supervisor Maryam Khatun and other local political leaders were present on the occasion.
Dr. Golam Rabbani said that the government as well as the philanthropists of the society should come forward in the service of humanity so that the patients suffering from corona do not have to suffer. The 50-bed corona unit needs the most oxygen. When it was not possible to supply oxygen to more than 20 patients due to the problem, they feel comfortable to stand by their side. He called upon all, including individuals and non-governmental voluntary organizations, to come forward in the current situation. He appealed to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to set up an RT PCR lab in Chapainawabganj as soon as possible and to provide adequate vaccination.
After receiving the oxygen cylinders, Dr. Nadeem Sarkar, the resident medical officer of the hospital, said that at present the hospital is in dire need of oxygen cylinders for the patients suffering from shortness of breath.
These cylinders will meet the urgent needs of the patients. He called upon other charitable individuals and organizations to come forward in this way.
