In the operation of Moulvibazar district administration, 710 kg of illegal polythene has been seized. A mobile court has fined two people involved in illegal polythene business Rs 60,000.
On Thursday, under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan and under the overall supervision of Additional District Wise Magistrate Rumana Yasmin, the district administration officials raided the Gauchia Market in Srimangal town. At that time, 710 kg of illegal polythene stored in a godown was seized. At that time, two persons were fined Tk 60,000 in two separate cases under the Environmental Protection Act, 1995 for trading and conserving illegal polythene.
The mobile court was conducted by a team of RAB-9 and District Environment Department in collaboration with District Administration Senior Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Nusrat Laila Nira.
