Sheikh Momin, Goalanda (Rajbari): A seven-day lockdown has started in Rajbari’s Goalanda to prevent the epidemic. The administration and law enforcement forces have taken to the field to implement this lockdown. Members of the district administration, upazila administration, police department and army have been seen patrolling the upazila town, highways and important places since Saturday morning.
No vehicles were seen on the highway except for emergency vehicles. Law enforcers including district administration and police superintendent have been patrolling the Dhaka-Khulana highway, Goalanda Bazar, Daulatdia Ghat and other places in the upazila since morning.
On the spot, Deputy Commissioner Dilshad Begum, District Superintendent of Police MM Shakiluzzaman, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Crime) Md. Salahuddin, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Sheikh Sharif-uz-Zaman, Army were present on the spotCaptain Ershad, Chairman of the Upazila Parishad.Mustafa Munshi, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Rajbari Deputy Commissioner Dilsad Begum said the Rajbari district administration is working to implement the government’s 16-point notification to prevent corona. The mobile courts have been working separately in different places in Goaland Upazila including the district town since Saturday morning. However, in this case, the people need to be more aware.
The DC further said that the police, army and BGB are working in coordination with the district administration. Earlier, we made everyone aware of the government notification by miking. Hopefully this lockdown will be observed without any chaos.
In this regard, Rajbari District Superintendent of Police MM Shakiluzzaman said, the police will be on the ground to implement the government’s 18-point circular to prevent corona. Police have been stationed at important places including highways since Saturday morning. I myself have been stationed on the highway since morning so that there is no chaos and no interruption in the performance of police duties.
He also confirmed that several teams of the army are working in the field to observe the strict lockdown in Rajbari. Meanwhile, it was seen on the spot that no business establishment was opened in the upazila town on Saturday. There is no such vehicle on the inner roads of the city. However, some rickshaws were seen moving in isolation. Members of the executive magistrate, police, army were seen patrolling several important roads and points in the city.
