Abdullah Al Mamun, Chapainawabganj: Due to COVID-19, cash has been distributed among 250 families in Chapainawabganj under the initiative of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society. Ashraful Haque, Chairman (Acting) of Zila Parishad, distributed cash on behalf of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Chapainawabganj Unit at the Zila Parishad premises at 10 am on Sunday.
At the time, he said, everyone still had to be vigilant because of the Corona epidemic. According to the government instructions, this time has to be followed in accordance with the hygiene rules. It is a humanitarian aspect that the Red Crescent Society is giving cash to the unemployed families at this difficult time and we all have to stand by the needy and helpless according to our ability.
Abdul Hakim, Vice Chairman, Red Crescent Society Chapainawabganj Unit and Ashiq Ahmed Farooq, Secretary spoke on the occasion. Postmaster of the main post office Laxman Chandra Das, Member of Zila Parishad Royal Biswas, members of the district Red Crescent M Quraishi Milu and Salamat Hossain were present on the occasion.
Later, 250 families were given Rs 2,500. Ashiq Ahmed Faruk, secretary of the Red Crescent Society unit, said the government has started providing Tk 2,500 to 500 families in Sadar and Shibganj upazilas in cash as humanitarian assistance to the unemployed families in the district due to the corona virus crisis.
