BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that those who stole votes the night before, elected 154 people without contest, do not like democracy. “Aren’t they ashamed when they talk about democracy?” He asked.
He said this while inaugurating an extended meeting of the Krishak Dal at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity in the capital on Tuesday.
There is no democracy in the BNP. In response to the statement of Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader, Mirza Fakhrul said that even horses laugh at his words. Only in the face of their democracy. They do not believe in democracy.
Mirza Fakhrul further complained that no elections were held in 2014 and 2018. People could not vote. The present government has been oppressing the people of this country for 12 years. People have no confidence in Sheikh Hasina and Awami League. It has ruined people’s hopes and aspirations.
The BNP secretary general said, democracy means Khaleda Zia. But he has been detained in a false case. The current crisis in the country is not only of the BNP, but of the entire nation.
Regarding the election, the BNP secretary general said the election should be held under a neutral, non-partisan government. People will be able to cast their votes there. Criticizing the search committee, he said, “What’s the search committee? It will be whatever you want. ‘
Remarking that Election Commissioner Mahbub Talukder was telling the truth, government ministers called him a mental patient, Mirza Fakhrul said, “You are a mental patient. I don’t see him leaving the house. Come to the people. You will not find a way to escape. ‘
Addressing the farmers’ party, Fakhrul said the government has taken the farmers to the most miserable condition. They do not get the value of the crop. Debt-ridden. Even though the price of rice is 60 rupees, the farmers do not get that price. Must stay with farmers. Don’t just make a costume team. You have to go to the farmer too. We have to make a movement for them. Farmers need to be awakened. Otherwise the movement for democracy will not succeed.
Krishak Dal president Hasan Jafir presided over the meeting while general secretary Shahidul Islam conducted the meeting.
