The people and people’s representatives of Chhatarkhai village in Ward 6 of Darbast Union No. 4 have demanded a proper investigation in the interest of acquittal of innocent persons and justice in a murder case filed at Jaintapur Model Police Station in Sylhet. The demand was made in a petition sent to them on June 15 along with the Inspector General of Police. Case No. 25/21, Date: – 29-05-2021.
In the petition, they mentioned that there was a recent clash between the people of Altafun Nesha, daughter of late Hajir Ali of Chhatarkhai village and Sahad Uddin, son of Hosan Ahmed of the same village. Both the parties filed two separate cases at Jaintapur Model Police Station. But the sad but true fact is that without their knowledge, Sahad Uddin accused Abdul Karim and 3 other innocent people in the case filed by him. They later appeared in court and were granted bail. Later on June 10, Rafiq Ahmed, 65, son of late Fatir Ali of Shahad Uddin’s party, died at the hospital. In this context, a murder case was filed on behalf of Sahad Uddin at Jaintapur Model Police Station. In retaliation, 3 people including Abdul Karim were made accused (Accused Nos. 3, 4, 6 and 7). The matter was informed to the Chairman of Darbast Union Parishad No. 4. The villagers, including the chairman, sought the kind cooperation of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for a fair trial in the murder case and acquittal of innocent persons.
