Covid-19: Penalty for owners of tourist boats coming to Tangua

Mobile court fines have been levied on the owners of two boats (engine-driven) for transporting tourists to Tanguar Haor in Tahirpur, Sunamganj, in defiance of government restrictions.
Tahirpur District Executive Officer (UNO) Executive Magistrate collected a fine of Tk 5,000 from the boat owners through the Mobile Court on Sunday afternoon.

On Monday, Tahirpur District Executive Officer (UNO) Executive Magistrate. Raihan Kabir said that in order to prevent Kovid-19, the tourist centers of Tahirpur Upazila including Sunamganj district went to Tangua Haor on Sunday morning in two boats, ignoring the official ban on tourist transport.

After receiving the news, the owners of the two boats near the observation tower in Tangua Haor were fined through a mobile court and released.

That day Sunamganj Deputy Commissioner. Jahangir Hossain said that in order to prevent the transmission of Corona virus (Covid-19), tourists have been banned from traveling to other tourist destinations including Tahirpur in Sunamganj district like boats, motor vehicles and speedboards. Law enforcement and mobile courts have been instructed to take immediate legal action if tourist transport or accommodation is provided to tourists in residential hotels until the ban is lifted.
