Clashes between two parties in Chanpara over domination of Rupganj: 5 policemen including 8 police inspectors injured, 70 rounds of rubber bullets fired Arrested-2

Rashedul Islam, Rupganj (Narayanganj): The clash took place between the terrorist Joynal group of Chanpara Rehabilitation Center, known as the paradise of crime in Kayetpara union of Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj district, over the dominance of terrorist Shahin group.  8/10 people from both sides were injured in the clash.  Police fired 80 rounds of rubber bullets to disperse the two sides.  Five policemen, including Rupganj police inspector Humayun Kabir Mollah, were injured in the incident.  Police arrested Naeem (28) and Mamun (20) on charges of involvement in the clash.  The police filed a case against 21 people named Ezhar.
  According to police and locals, a scuffle broke out between Joynal Group and City Shahin Group on Sunday afternoon over the sharing of Tk 10,000 in Adam’s business.  An attempt was made to resolve the incident at the Awami League office in Purbagram by Alhaj Md Jahed Ali, president of Kayetpara Union Awami League.  Both parties did not comply with the arbitration.  Later on Sunday evening, members of the terrorist City Shaheen group hacked Raihan (25), an activist of the terrorist Joynal group, and hacked him randomly.  After receiving the news, the people of Joynal group, armed with local weapons, chased the people of Shahin group.
At this time the people of Shaheen group also chased them armed.  Both sides engaged in clashes by throwing brick-bats in retaliatory chases.  At this time 8/10 people from both sides were injured.  The injured are Rabbi (23), Moktar (32), Nur Alam (35), Salam (25), Robin (23), Arif alias Don Arif (25), Johnny (26) and Ripon (26).  Upon receiving the news, the Rupganj police chased both sides and the protesters threw brick-bats at the police.  Rupganj Police Station Inspector Humayun Kabir Mollah, ASI Bayezid Hawlader, Abdul Halim, Sepoy Nurul Amin, Sirajul Islam and Abu Bakkar Siddique were injured.  Police later fired 80 rounds of rubber bullets to disperse the protesters.
  Officer-in-charge (OC) of Rupganj Police Station AFM Sayed said a case has been filed with Rupganj Police Station over the incident.  Currently the situation is normal.  No terrorist will be spared.  Attempts are being made to arrest the protesters quickly.
