The Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau has returned to power. Canada’s 44th general election was held on Monday. There have been reports of fierce fighting in this election.
The Guardian reports that Justin Trudeau called it a “clear mandate” in a statement following the news of the victory.
Trudeau held elections two years ago to secure a majority in parliament.
According to preliminary results, Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party is leading with 156 seats. In order to form a government in Canada alone, any party must win at least 170 seats. Opposition leader Erin O’Toole’s Conservative Party is leading with 121 seats.
Two crore 70 lakh voters in 338 constituencies of the country. Voting ends at 9:30 pm local time on Tuesday. It is learned that a large number of votes were cast in this election through mail.
