Bangladesh lost to Zimbabwe in the first ODI

The Tigers fought well with the bat in the first ODI of the series against Zimbabwe. The red-green representatives were ineffective with the ball. Taskin-Shariful failed to build on the occasion for the Tigers to enjoy the win.

On Friday (August 8), the visitors lost the toss and scored 303 runs in 50 overs with the bat of Liton-Tamim. In response, Zimbabwe won by 6 wickets. Besides, Tamim made a record in this match but Liton is burning with regret for the century. Tamim became the first Bangladeshi batsman to reach the milestone of 1000 runs in the ODI version. However, before the end of the first ODI against Zimbabwe, Liton Das was ruled out of the three-match series with a hamstring injury. There are even fears about his performance in the Asia Cup.

He was the first and only cricketer of Bangladesh to score 7,000 runs in ODIs. This time, Tamim surpassed himself and reached the 8 thousand club. Whereas Tamim batted 229 innings with 14 centuries and 54 fifties. In all, this tiger dashing opener touched the milestone of 8000 runs as the 34th batsman in the world. Tamim left with 62 runs off 88 balls with 9 fours and handed over the catch to Kaia while hooking Raja’s ball.

Meanwhile, Liton pulled a muscle while taking a quick single on the first ball of the 34th over. Then this right-handed batsman fell on the ground. He was taken to the dressing room on a stretcher. Lytton, who was playing brilliantly, retired Hart on 81 off 89 balls. He had 9 fours and 1 six in his innings. After the 75-ball fifty, Lytton continues to play brilliantly. But due to injury, he had to leave the field 19 runs away from the century. After that, Enamul Haque Bijay-Mushfique kept the wheels of Bangladesh running.

Both of them batted coolly to complete the team score of 200 in 38 overs. Enamul scored 73 runs off 62 balls. This is the fourth time he has made a fifty in the ODI format. Enamul returned to the ODI team after three years. Enamul last played in ODI on July 31, 2019 against Sri Lanka. After that, he did not get a place in the team due to bad form. However, Enamul proved himself once again by scoring a record run in the DPL.
