Another 54 lakh vaccines of Sinofarm purchased from China have arrived in the country. The vaccines arrived at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on a Bangladesh Biman flight at 1.15pm on Friday.
Airport health officer said. Sajjad Hossain confirmed the information to the media and said, “Health department officials have received the vaccine at the airport. 54 lakh 1 thousand 350 doses of vaccine have been received in this consignment. They were later sent to storage. ”
With this, Bangladesh received a total of 1 crore 99 lakh 1 thousand 350 doses of synoform.
The government has agreed to buy 30 million doses of synoform. Besides, Bangladesh Cinopharm is also getting vaccine from Kovax assistance.
Earlier, China had given 11 lakh vaccines to Bangladesh in two phases. In the first phase, on May 12, China gifted 5 lakh doses of Synoform to Bangladesh. In the second phase, China donated 6 lakh doses of vaccine.
Besides, on July 3, 20 lakh vaccines bought commercially from China came to the country in the first phase. In the second phase, another 20 lakh vaccines were received on July 17. Another 30 lakh vaccines come on July 30.
