With today’s vaccine, China has given the vaccine to Bangladesh in three steps so far. On May 12, China gifted 5 lakh vaccines to Bangladesh. Six lakh vaccines came to Dhaka in the second phase on 13 June. And today, in the third step, 1 million notes of Chinese gifts are coming.
With this, China gave 21 lakh vaccines to Bangladesh as a direct gift.
In addition, China has donated 34 lakh 70 thousand synoform vaccines to Bangladesh in two days under the global vaccine initiative CoVAX. Earlier, the United States sent Moderner and Japan Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines to Bangladesh under Kovacs. And Covax sent Pfizer’s vaccine directly.
In addition to the gift, Bangladesh made a commercial agreement to buy 1.5 crore doses of vaccine from China. The cabinet committee has already approved a proposal to buy another 60 million doses of vaccine from China.
