Srimangal (Moulvibazar) Representative: A workshop on alliance formation has been held in Srimangal to strengthen child protection. The workshop was held on Monday (December 22) at 11 am in the conference room of Srimangal Upazila Parishad.
The workshop was organized by MCIDA, BTS and Idea Project with the funding of ChildFund Korea and Educo and in collaboration with Aloy Alo Project.
Srimangal Upazila Executive Officer Nazrul Islam inaugurated and presided over the workshop. Acting Chairman of Upazila Parishad Premsagar Hazra addressed the workshop as a guest.
Tahirul Islam Milon, Chief Executive Officer of MCIDA, gave a welcome address at the workshop conducted by Chandni Roy, Project Coordinator, Breaking the Silence.
Women Vice Chairman Mitali Dutt, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer was present. Sajjad Hossain Chowdhury, Aloy Alo Project Co-ordinator. Emdadul Haque, Aminur Rahman, Idea’s project coordinator.
The workshop was attended by 40 people including government and private officials at the upazila level, NGO representatives, managers of six tea gardens, panchayat presidents of six tea gardens, headmasters of three primary schools, representatives of area-based child protection committees and journalists.
According to the organizers, there are plans to form a committee at the upazila level to monitor the protection of children’s rights.
