Md. Sharifuzzaman, Basail, Tangail: In Tangail’s Basail, the lockdown has been disregarded by ignoring the government’s instructions to prevent the spread of the corona and the various cases have been filed by the mobile court in two separate cases. On the afternoon of June 29 (Tuesday), two separate mobile courts headed by Basail Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Manzur Hossain and Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Nahyan Nooren were conducted in Basail municipal area, bus stand, Kacha Bazar and crowded places.
A case was filed against five people through a mobile court headed by Manzur Hossain for disobeying the lockdown announced by the government to prevent corona and a fine of Tk 8,500 was levied. On the other hand, at the same time, a case was filed against 6 people through a mobile court headed by Nahyan Nuren and a fine of Tk 8,000 was collected. During this time, in collaboration with the Basail police, miking was carried out to increase public awareness about the importance of following the health rules and the use of masks as per the government guidelines for the prevention of corona. In addition, masks were distributed to pedestrians through the mobile court.
In this regard, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Manzur Hossain said, “It is an ongoing process of ours to motivate the people and ensure the use of masks among the people in the wake of the government-directed lockdown against corona. This trend will continue in the future as well and more stringent measures will be taken if the law is not obeyed. A case has been filed against 11 people under Section 24 of the Infectious Diseases Prevention, Control and Eradication Act 2017 and a fine of Tk 16,500 has been levied by two courts for violating the lockdown.
