A fine of Rs 4,000 was imposed in that case for disobeying strict lockdown

Md. Sharifuzzaman, Basail (Tangail): A total fine of Tk 4,000 has been imposed in 8 cases by a mobile court for violating government directives to prevent epidemic corona infection in Basail, Tangail.
On July 25 (Sunday) afternoon, a mobile court was conducted in Basail Municipal Area, Bus Stand, Kacha Bazar and other populated areas of Basulia and Singardak under the leadership of Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Manzur Hossain.
A case was filed against six people through a mobile court headed by Manzur Hossain for disobeying the lockdown announced by the government to prevent corona and a fine of Tk 4,000 was collected.
During this time, in collaboration with the Basail police, miking was carried out to increase public awareness about the importance of following the health rules and the use of masks as per the government guidelines for the prevention of corona. In addition, masks were distributed to pedestrians through the mobile court.
In this regard, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Manzur Hossain said, “It is an ongoing process of ours to motivate the people and ensure the use of masks among the people in the wake of the government-directed lockdown against corona. This trend will continue in the future and if the law is not obeyed, more stringent measures will be taken. Today, 8 people have been charged under Section 24 of the Infectious Diseases Prevention, Control and Eradication Act 2018 and fined Tk 4,000 for violating the lockdown.
