Abdullah Al Mamun: The Chapainawabganj Association USA Inc, a voluntary organization of expatriates living in New York City, USA, has provided financial assistance to the families affected by the corona virus.
The assistance was given to 90 affected families of Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila at Harimohan Government High School ground around 11 am on Tuesday. Among them, financial assistance of Tk 7,000 was given to 30 families of the deceased in Corona and Tk 2,000 was given to 60 families. Retired Principal of Rangpur Cadet College Md. Israel Haque and Inc’s representative Md. Shafiqul Islam Babul handed over the financial assistance. Asaduzzaman Babu, Jalal Uddin, Shaheen, Mehedi Hasan, Khalilur Rahman, Abdul Majid, Shamim Hossain, Shamsuzzaman Shovon, Sajidur Rahman Sajid, Aditya and others were present at the time.
President of Chapainawabganj Association USA Inc Md. Monirul Islam Bachchu, Senior Vice President Kauser Ali, Vice President Golam Kibria Masum, General Secretary Fazlur Rahman and Adviser Monir Hossain Parag joined the video conference from New York.
Golam Kibria Masum, vice-president of Chapainawabganj Association USA Inc, said that Chapainawabganj Association USA Inc was established by some enterprising expatriate service organizations of Chapainawabganj living in New York City, USA. The organization started its journey in 2014 with a commitment to work for the welfare of humanity. On behalf of this organization, financial assistance has been given to the families of 60 victims of Corona and 30 victims of Corona in Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila.
He added that two people from Chapainawabganj living in New York City have passed away due to the epidemic corona virus. The organization has provided financial assistance to the bereaved families including funeral arrangements. In addition, another 250 people from Nachol, Gomstapur, Bholahat and Shibganj upazilas of Chapainawabganj will be given Tk 8 lakh in phases. He also said that the efforts of the organization will continue for the welfare of Chapainawabganj.
