Police in Saudi Arabia have arrested seven Bangladeshis on charges of illegally trading in mobile SIM cards.
At the time, 1,461 SIM cards, four fingerprint readers and several riyals (Saudi currency) were recovered from them.
Riyadh police spokesman Major Khaled al-Kredis said.
He said the detainees were violating the Residency Permit (Iqama) rules. The security branch of the police has arrested them in the fight against cyber crime.
He said the seven Bangladeshis were involved in selling illegal SIM cards. The SIM cards were collected from various shops in Riyadh.
Major Khaled said the arrested were between 30 and 40 years of age. After taking preliminary legal action, they were handed over to the government prosecutor’s office. Source: Saudi Gazette.
