7 arrested including accused in temple theft case

A special operation of Habiganj’s Baniachang police has arrested six accused, including a fugitive accused on multiple arrest warrants, involved in cattle theft and theft at the Sri Sri Gobind Jiur Akhra temple.

On Saturday night, under the direction of Baniachang Police Station OC Mohammad Emran Hossain, SI Santosh Chowdhury, SI Rakib Hossain, SI Faruk Hossain, ASI Saddam Hossain, ASI Toha and ASI Tipu Mitra conducted a special night operation in the police station area. The arrested accused are Mohammad Ashak Ali, son of late Rajban Ali of Ashtagram police station of Kishoreganj district, Jahangir Mia, 35, son of Mannar Mia of Halimpur village and Mohammad Hossain, son of Jalal Master of Sandrapur village of Baniachang upazila.

On the other hand, Rahul Mia Prakash Ershad Mia, 26, son of Sameer Uddin of Burujpara village in Sadar upazila and Nurul Amin alias Ludu, 40, son of late Waheed Ullah of Jatrapasha mahalla were accused of stealing cattle from the house of Alhaj Omar Ali Master of Jatrapasha mahalla on November 5. Faisal Mia, 25, son of Junab Ali of Pukra Union and Alamgir Mia, 40, son of Kazi Nur Mia of Paschim Pukra village were arrested in connection with the theft.

Baniachang Police Station OC Emran Hossain said the accused have been handed over to a wise court. Special operations of Baniachang police are continuing to prevent theft and robbery in the police station area.
