Staff Reporter: Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md. Shahab Uddin said that 64 separate documentaries need to be made in 64 districts of the country with the memorial of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. All these documentaries need to be made to make the present and future generations known
about the colorful life and ideals of the far-sighted leader Bangabandhu.
Environemnt minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at a function organized at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Moulvibazar on the occasion of unveiling the wrapper of the documentary ‘Khuje Firi Pitar Padachinha’ made by the district administration today. Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan presided over the unveiling ceremony. Moulvibazar-3 MP Nesar Ahmed, MP Syeda Johra Alauddin from reserved women’s seat-36, Moulvibazar Zilla Parishad Chairman Misbahur Rahman, Moulvibazar Municipality Mayor Fazlur Rahman and Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Md. Kamal Hossain Were present among others as special guests.
The Environment Minister thanked the district administration for the production and online news portal eyenews.news for providing technical assistance of the documentary on the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth centenary and golden jubilee of independence. He said Bangabandhu has rushed from one end of the country to the other to improve the living standards of the common people after returning to the newly independent country.
As a true philanthropic leader, Bangabandhu has repeatedly visited the beautiful Moulvibazar district surrounded by haors, hills, tea gardens and plains to attract backward tea workers and marginalized people. He has been here in 1956, 1964, 1968, 1969, 1970 and 1973 for the development and upliftment of the condition of the people. The minister said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib came to address a huge election rally at Baralekha railway station ground in Moulvibazar district as part of the nationwide election campaign in the 1970 general elections. Then I was a tenth grader. After listening to his speech, like most people, I also follow the ideology of Awami League and Bangabandhu.
The Minister said that today the entire nation is celebrating the martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu with deep grief. The non-communal and democratic spirit of Bangabandhu and the torch of independent and economic growth, modernisation , tradition, culture, freedom and dignity are now being illuminated by his daughter under the leadership of the present Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In every case, Bangladesh is now a wonder of the world, a role model. Assistance is being provided to all the helpless people of the country. All kinds of help is being given to the heroic freedom fighters including increase in allowances. Inspired by the ideals of the Father of the Nation, he said, “We all work sincerely from our respective positions to build the golden Bengal of his dreams, free from hunger and poverty, progressive, anti-militant and anti-terrorism, non-communal and developed.”
It may be mentioned that information and footage of Bangabandhu’s memorial in 7 upazilas of Moulvibazar district has been included in the documentary. Memorials of Bangabandhu have been taken from Moulvibazar Government High School Ground, Bangabandhu’s Mural, Shaheed Minar, Ansar Field (present DC Office), Wapda Rest House on Shah Mostafa Road, Moulvibazar Club, Dewani Mosque, Janmilan Kendra, Fulchhara Tea Garden in Srimangal, Dak Bungalow, Nandarani Tea Garden, Dr. Mr. Ali’s house, T-Resort, Shaheed Minar, then Sonali Bank premises, Baralekha, Juri, Kulaura, Tenrabazar in Rajnagar and Shamsernagar in Kamalganj. Seeing Bangabandhu, interviews of people who have memories with Bangabandhu have also been included. The documentary will be displayed in important and crowded places of seven upazilas of the district through the district information office.
