5 killed in Rangpur microbus-CNG collision

Five people were killed when a CNG-powered autorickshaw collided head-on with a microbus at Paglapir in Rangpur Sadar.

The accident took place at Saleya Bazar area of ​​Paglapir in Sadar upazila on Wednesday evening.

Rangpur Sadar Kotwali Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the accident.

The deceased have been identified as Amjad Hossain, 50, of Hariyarkuthi Kharuabadha village under Taraganj upazila, Mahindra driver Cheyadul Islam Chopra, 37, and Nazma Begum, 35, of Dohazari Chhuthajipur village in Ikarchali. The names of the other two are not yet known.

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. One of them named Nazma Begum and two others died. The bodies of the deceased have been handed over to Taraganj Highway Police.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Taraganj Highway Police Mahbub Morshed said the bodies of two of the deceased were being handed over to their families. The injured have been admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. The condition of one of them is critical.
