Jaker Hossain, a former district magistrate of Jessore Central Jail, has been sacked after three accused were released from Magura District Jail using fake bail orders. He is currently working as a jail super in Habiganj district jail.
A circular signed by Tahnia Rahman Chowdhury, deputy secretary of the jail-1 branch of the security services department of the home ministry, issued a temporary dismissal order on Saturday.
According to the circular, Jaker Hossain, a former district magistrate of Jessore Central Jail, was suspended from government service in the light of the report of the inquiry committee formed as per the order of the Criminal Appeal Division of the High Court on the release of three accused on bail in Magura District Jail. In case of temporary dismissal, he will be entitled to food allowance as per financial rules.
The order was issued with the approval of the appropriate authorities and will be effective immediately, the notification said.
When contacted by Sylhet Range DIG Prison Kamal Hossain on his mobile phone on Monday evening, he said he had not received any signed notification from the Home Ministry in this regard.
Meanwhile, Joynal Abedin, who is in charge of Habiganj Jail, confirmed on Monday evening that the notification signed by him had reached them on Sunday evening.
