Latiful Azam Kishoreganj (Nilphamari)

Mashiur Rahman, the entrepreneur son of the late Fazlur Rahman of Uttarpara village, Ronchandi union, Kishoreganj upazila, Nilphamari, has taken over the dream duck farm of the village by some stick forces. As a result, the farmer has lost 12 lakh taka. He has not received any redress even after filing a complaint with the police. It is known that in early 2024, entrepreneur Mashiur Rahman took a mortgage of 65 percent of the land from his neighbors, Marful Islam and Mitu Mia, sons of Shamsul Haque, on a non-judicial stamp for a period of 10 years. He spent 12 lakh taka on that mortgaged land, built a high dam on all sides, and built a duck and fish farm with electricity connection. Seeing the progress of the farmer for 1 year, the brothers were extremely jealous. On June 2 this year, a group of hired thugs with sticks, spears, and arrows chased the farmer away from the farm.  On the condition of anonymity, some residents of the area said that Moshiar had spent a lot of money to build the farm. Seeing good profits in the farm, they violently seized the farm with sticks. When we tried to say anything about this, they threatened us in various ways.  Farmer Moshiar Rahman said, I had built the farm by mortgaging the land with the money I had saved little by little. But the terrorists did not let me realize that dream. I left everything and fled in fear for my life. Now I am destitute and sitting on the streets like a beggar. I did not get any results even after filing a complaint at the police station. They are threatening my younger brother, who is outside due to his service in the army, in various ways and the terrorists are constantly coming to his house and threatening him. Now I and my family are insecure.  When asked about the land mortgagees Mithu Mia and Marful Islam, they said, I had signed a 10-year agreement with Moshiar Mia. The agreement mentioned that we would pay 38,000 taka to our two brothers every year. But when Moshiar did not pay the agreement money, we drove him away. When I spoke to Kishoreganj Police Station Complaint Investigation Officer SI Gopal Chandra, he said, I had called the other party to the police station, but even when Moshiar came to the police station, they did not come to the police station.
