Educationist Shah Nazim Uddin Munan has been appointed as the president of the newly elected committee of Rajbari Degree College, a traditional educational institution in Nesarabad Upazila. National University Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. ASM Amanullah nominated him as the president and Sifat Kamal as the honorary member. In addition, the members of the approved management committee are: Founding Member – Fakir Shah Nasir Uddin (Former Director – Bangladesh Red Crescent Society and College Founder), Enthusiastic Member: Sifat Kamal (LLB, MBA), Donor Member: Md. Siddiqur Rahman Howlader (Businessman), Benefactor Member: Asit Baran Das (Director, Asha International), Guardian Member: Md. Moniruzzaman, Md. Jahangir Hossain Howlader and Md. Idris Ali Fakir, Teacher Representative: Md. Monirul Islam, Md. Fazlul Haque, Mohsina Akhter, Member-Secretary: Md. Nazrul Islam (Acting Principal).
Shah Nazim Uddin is the son of Fakir Nasir Uddin, the founder of the college. Fakir Nasir Uddin established the college in 1994 in Byaskathi village of Guarekha union of Swarupkathi upazila of Pirojpur district to ensure access to higher education for the marginalized community. There are a total of 8 colleges in the entire upazila, which are working to enlighten the light of education for about 2 lakh 12 thousand people in 137 villages of 10 unions. Among them, Rajbari Degree College occupies a special place. Since its inception, this college has become one of the centers of higher education for students from about five surrounding unions.
The college’s role in consistently achieving good results, improving the quality of education, and increasing moral education and awareness is commendable. Many students here are now self-reliant, creating employment, and successfully fulfilling responsibilities in various government and private organizations. Not only the college, Fakir Nasir Uddin made an outstanding contribution to the spread of education. He established the Egargram Sammilni Secondary School, E.G.S. Vocational School, Patikelbari Dargah Sharif Dakhil Madrasa and Orphanage. Newly elected president Shah Nazim Uddin Munan has rich experience in education and career.
He completed his SSC from Ideal School in Dhaka, HSC from Dhaka Commerce College, BBA from Independent University Bangladesh (IUB), PGD from United International University, and Master’s degree from a Canadian university. Moreover, he has received training in various subjects at home and abroad. In his professional life, he worked for 10 years in various corporate and development organizations and served as a consultant. Currently, in addition to running his own business, he also works as a career counselor at various educational institutions. Local people have expressed optimism that with his experience, leadership qualities, and sincere efforts, Rajbari Degree College will reach new heights and become a role model of modern and quality education.
