Journalists Attack one After another in whole Bangladesh. Last in Chittagong yesterday. It’s alarming for Journalists & related people.

When asked if any case has been filed in the police station or court regarding this, the office secretary of CMRU did not respond. After that Abir President of CMRU said that we are not field any case at all but we still observing 24 hours.

A human chain was formed in front of the Chittagong Press Club on Sunday (June 29) afternoon to protest the ‘attack and physical assault’ on Shahidul Islam Masum, a multimedia reporter of the Daily Jay-Jay-din Chittagong office, while performing his professional duties.

Incidentally, Masum was allegedly attacked while speaking during a road march organized by “BAM” organizations on Saturday (June 28) to stop the conspiracy to lease the Chittagong port to foreigners by occupying the Chittagong Port Roundabout.

Senior journalist Zahidul Karim Kochi, member secretary of the Chittagong Press Club, was the main speaker at the program organized by the Chittagong Multimedia Reporters Unity (CMRU). He said, ‘When media workers perform their professional duties, it is the responsibility of the state to ensure their safety. He directed the police to arrest these attackers and bring them under the law.

Three demands were made from the human chain under the newly formed organisation CMRU:-

1. The security of media workers must be ensured.

2. The attackers must be brought under the law quickly.

3. Action must be taken against those responsible organizationally.

CMRU President Abir Ahmed, General Secretary Sajjad Hossain, and other leaders of the organization also spoke at the program.

Current leaders of the organization have warned that if there is no progress in implementing the demands within the next 24 hours, a continuous program will be announced with the participation of the larger journalist community.
