An open budget of Tk 558.5 million has been announced for the 2025-2026 fiscal year of Gopalganj Municipality, without imposing any additional taxes on the consumer level, especially on municipal holding tax, building construction fees, trade license renewal, water bills, and any services provided by the municipality. Gopalganj Municipal Administrator and Deputy Director (Deputy Secretary) of the Local Government Department, Biswajit Kumar Pal, announced the budget at the conference room of Gopalganj Municipality on Monday (June 23) afternoon. The budget has estimated income of 278.5 million 37 thousand taka and expenditure of 274.5 million 71 thousand 361 taka. The surplus in this budget is estimated at 39 lakh 65 thousand 639 taka. Several development works have been undertaken in the coming fiscal year, including the construction and supply of modern water treatment plants in the municipal area, waste management, development of roads and drainage systems, provision of lighting on various roads in the municipal area, and mosquito control activities. Municipal Administrator Biswajit Kumar Pal has expressed hope that the civic amenities of Gopalganj residents will increase if these projects are implemented. At this time, he requested the residents of the municipality to pay municipal taxes, water bills, and other financial sector fees on time.
