A workshop titled “Implementation of Online Services of the Directorate of Information” was held in Bandarban.The workshop was organized by the Directorate of Information,Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Thursday (June 19). Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ara Rini was present as the chief guest at the workshop organized at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Room. M.Javed Iqbal,Senior Deputy Chief Information Officer (Press) of the Directorate of Information,presided over the workshop. During the workshop,Md. Nizamul Kabir,Chief Information Officer of the Directorate of Information, gave an introductory speech and spoke in detail about the need for simplification of services and digitization in government offices. The keynote address was presented by Mohammad Kamruzzaman Bhuiyan, Deputy Chief Information Officer (Protocol) of the Information Department.Bandarban Police Superintendent Md.Shahidullah Kawsar spoke as a special guest.Various officials of the Department of Information, District Information Officer Mizanur Rahman and journalists from various print and electronic media were present at the workshop. The workshop discussed various online services of the government.The journalists present expressed their opinions on how the services can be made how can more easy and accessible to the general public. At this time,Senior Deputy Chief Information Officer (Press) of the Directorate of Information M.Javed Iqbal, called on all journalists to collect and disseminate news in accordance with government rules.He also called on the owners of various websites and newspapers to register their respective organizations and operate them in accordance with government laws.
