Martyr of Ukhia Kutupalong Rohingya camp arrested with yaba in BGB net

Shahid, son of Hossain Ahmed, a resident of Block B/78, Kutupalong FDMN Rohingya Camp in Ukhia Ukhia Upazila of Cox’s Bazar district, was arrested by Cox’s Bazar 34 BGB along with 1 lakh 20 thousand Yaba tablets at 6:10 am on June 21. According to BGB sources, based on its own intelligence information, a special patrol team of Ghumdhum BOP took a strategic position in the Jamal Gher area of the border early on Saturday (June 21). At approximately 6:10 am, a man with a bag on his shoulder approached and challenged him. When he tried to escape, he was chased and arrested. The arrested person is Md. Shahid (19), father of Hossain Ahmed, a resident of Kutupalong FDMN Camp-08 (East), Block-B/74. A search was conducted in his discarded bag and 120,000 Yaba tablets were recovered. The BGB said that legal action is underway against the detainee and he will be handed over to the police. 34 BGB Commander Lt. Col. SM Khairul Alam, PSC said, “Our operations to prevent drugs and smuggling in the border areas are being conducted regularly and will continue in the future.”
